This is the introductory line to the history of the iconic brand called Zodiac. We applaud this statement and want to underline its presence in the watch we are displaying here. It is a Zodiac Triple Date with Moon Phase! A very complicated watch made circa 1948. It has served its owner quite well for all those intervening years and remains in great condition today. It is a seventeen jewel movement that is housed in a stainless steel case that measures 33 mm in diameter (not including the crown), by 40 mm lug to lug, by 12 mm thick (not including the crystal). The silvered dial displays the day of the week, the month, and there is a gold hand that points to the date. Just above the 6 o'clock position is a wonderful Moon phase indicator with an interior rolling "Golden Moon" that comes into view to indicate the current state of the Moon's visibility. The Arabic numerals are only at the cardinal points giving the dial a wonderful simplicity which is indicative of Zodiac's classic design. The other chapters are indicated by small golden dots and there is an elegant, blued steel, sweep seconds hand at the very center. It just a great looking watch with very interesting complications.
