This Enicar looks very cool because it has a "Ranchero" style dial that really makes it sing! Not many folks in America are hip to the Enicar brand but people in Europe and Asia have been relying on them for many years. You are really "in-the-know" if you can tell an admirer the story behind the Enicar name. Here's the secret...it is the founder's name spelled backwards. Yes, Artiste Racine (Racine Watch Company) founded the company in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland circa 1913. The company was a major exporter to Russia in 1914 and was the first to employ the use of radium for glow-in-the dark dials and hands. By the 1920's the company had expanded and moved to Lengnau. It was at about that time that they were focusing on military style watches and "sport" watches for the public. This very interesting Enicar watch, with a date window at 3 o'clock, is housed in a stainless steel and measuring 34mm in diameter by 40mm lug to lug. The movement has 17 jewels and is running perfectly!
