Elgin was the largest manufacturer of watches in the world and this 14k solid gold pocket watch is one of the watches made during their heyday circa 1893. The dial is a beautiful porcelain dial with Roman Numerals that the Victorians just loved, but the real value of this watch is in the skillfully engraved 14k solid gold case. The design is masterful and in excellent condition. This is an eleven jewel, six size, hunting case with the initials "MB" on the back and a lovely bird on the front cover. This is the size that both men and women carried and the same applies today.
