The largest and most prolific watch company in the world was located in Elgin, Illinois for over one hundred years, closing their doors circa 1964. During their reign they produced many millions of pocket and wristwatches for every walk of life. This Elgin is a very nice ladies pendant watch that has what we call a "Skylight Case," meaning that the opening through which you view the dial is smaller than the size of the movement, giving it a very special look.

Additionally, the case, which measures 34mm in diameter, by 50mm (from the case bottom to the top of the bow), by 11mm thick (including the crystal) is a multi-color silver case with yellow, green, and rose gold inlay in a very nice floral pattern on the back. It has a wonderful appearance that is emphasized by an unusual case middle. While the front and back lids are silver, the case middle is comprised of a round, gold, ball-like circumference that is an uncommon decorative addition.

The multicolor theme is evident everywhere on this watch. The lovely porcelain dial is graced with Roman numerals, blued steel Lunette hands, and a red 5-minute track that is very rare on a ladies' watch. It is the only one in this case configuration that we have ever offered for sale in our over 40 years in the business. A lady would have worn it hanging from a watch pin or a chain, and it could easily be worn displaying either side! We often have it paired with a sterling & amethyst watch pin, adding some more color to the combination!

The three-quarter plate, 7 jewel movement is winding, setting and keeping time just as it did when it left the Elgin factory over 120 years ago. Our one-year warranty for parts and labor, will allow you to buy with confidence.
